COMPUTATIONAL
DESIGN DETROIT
(co.de.D)
I founded Computational Design Detroit (co.de.D) because I recognized that computational designers in Michigan often felt “alone and in the dark” at their firms. I wanted to participate in a forum where members of any firm could come to learn from one another rather than re-inventing the wheel. It didn’t exist, so I created it.
With the support of the AIA and a few other dedicated dreamers, our group grew rapidly to include a mailing list of over 300 members and an average attendance of about 50 people at our quarterly events. It enables me to maintain a spirit of innovative entrepreneurship free from the constraints of budgets and project deadlines.

We created a Grasshopper training series that has over 10,000 views on YouTube.
